The Music Barn at the Strubler's

Last night my family and I had the privilege of joining many members of our community at the Strubler's place. We listened to the most beautiful music, and saw the performance of also great actors and actresses. The Strubler's family has put this amazing friendly atmosphere together a couple of years ago, and it is the best way to start enjoying the fall season.
Taking these images was challenging due to the very dim light. I did not want to use flash, as it would remove the warmth of the tungsten lights used all around inside the barn. I had to shoot at ISO 1600, F2.8, and the shutter speed still averaged a slow 1/25th seconds. Too slow to handheld, and without a tripod, I was glad I had brought my image stabilized lens. Expensive, but it does pay off in events like these.

Marco,

As always, I love your work. This shot is particularly interesting: the natural lighting is surreal, giving a kind of dreamy feeling to what is perhaps an ordinary barn. The antique characters tell a different story.

From a critical perspective, there appears to be some distortion that is tilting the barn roof. I'm not sure that this is intended.

Thank you,

Tony Barr
